What's New for June at Yonni Castillo State Farm
June is the month where the sun shows up early, the calendars start sweating, and your to-do list somehow multiplies overnight. But here’s the good news: you don’t need a perfect plan, you just need a strong next step.
This month, we’re bringing you more than updates. We’re bringing motivation, meaning, and a few witty reminders that life won’t always wait for your schedule... so we’ll make sure you’re ready anyway. Because progress isn’t about being fearless, it’s about doing the right thing while you’re still figuring it out (and possibly wearing sunscreen you forgot to reapply).
Let’s celebrate what we share, honor what we’ve learned, and move forward with intention, one day at a time.
What to Review This Month (because “future you” will thank you)
Summer Road-Trip Readiness:
Confirm you have updated registration/ID information in your policy file
Check tire pressure (your car’s happiness depends on it)
Review coverage so you’re not surprised by the “unexpected detour”
Home Sweet Home (Storm Season Prep):
If you have trees near your home, do a quick “branch reality check”
Review smoke detector and extinguisher status (the tiny fixes can prevent big headaches)
Life Happens—Policies Should Keep Up: If anything changed recently (job, drivers, address, household members), June is a great time to make sure your coverage matches your life, not your life from two seasons ago.
Federal Holidays:
Juneteenth National Independence Day — Friday, June 19, 2026 A day to celebrate freedom, reflect on history, and recommit to building a more just future.
How we’re celebrating: by encouraging conversations in our community and supporting programs that uplift and empower neighbors year-round.
Initiatives:
Because June doesn’t just bring sunshine; it brings stories.
1) Pride Month (LGBTQ+ Pride) — all month We honor the courage it takes to be seen, the joy of being yourself, and the importance of safe, respectful communities.
2) Immigrant Heritage Month — all month A tribute to the cultures, dreams, and contributions that help communities thrive. Every family’s “origin story” matters.
3) Caribbean-American Heritage Month — all month Celebrating rich histories, music, innovation, and resilience, plus the many ways Caribbean culture brightens our shared American story.
4) Juneteenth community reflection — June 19 More than a date on the calendar: an invitation to learn, listen, and act with intention.
Remember, diversity isn’t just a policy, it’s our strength.
Motivational Moment:
“Small steps every day add up to big changes—especially when you stop waiting for ‘someday.’”
— Unknown
June energy check: you don’t need a dramatic plot twist to move forward, you just need the next right decision (and maybe a sunscreen re-application... because even motivation melts).

About Me
I am a native of Lansing, MI, and have been a resident in the Mesa community since 2013. I have over 15 years of State Farm Claims background and have served in various leadership roles over my career. I take pride in being active and engaged in community service. I hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a Specialization in Chicano/Latino Studies from Michigan State University and an associate’s degree in media technology from Lansing Community College.
Faith, family, community, music and athletics are all strong values of mine. I have been married to my amazing wife Raquel since 1999. We have four adult children (Jasmine, Aliciana, Alexis, and Yonni Jr), four grandchildren (Jasai, Aleia, Ayana, Theori, and our newest addition Jru Julian), and enjoy creating memories and spending time as a family. I am a weekend musician and also love basketball and golf. I am passionate about my Latino culture and devote much of my time to diversity and inclusion community projects and events. I feel privileged to create a safe space where all are respected and have a voice at the table. I work to provide opportunities for everyone to excel, develop, and have opportunities to achieve their dreams. I am not just a work colleague, I am a true friend, mentor, leader, and an ally to those who might not otherwise be heard. I am a man of action. I am honored to open our agency and through our outreach in insurance and financial products for individual and family needs, we pledge to grow the sense of community and belonging in the Mesa area.
